What is the sign-up process?
You may complete our Registration Form on line.
Do I just send payment and then show up for camp?
We like to keep things simple, but there's a little more to it than that. After completing the registration form, all boot campers must complete an initial evaluation before the camp begins. The evaluation takes about thirty minutes, during which we will answer any questions you may have, discuss your medical history, and perform simple measurements.
The evaluation includes the following:
- Introduction to Boot Camp and answers to any more questions you may have. Your medical history will also be reviewed.
- You will have some simple measurements done to see "where you are" prior to beginning camp. We don't care what the measurements show. It is strictly for a post-camp comparison. These numbers and all other information is strictly confidential.
- You will be weighed. Again, the number doesn't matter. We just want to see improvement.
- Next, your body fat is measured. Expect a 3-8% reduction over the four weeks.
- You will be given your boot camp information packet with the items you will need for camp.
- See you at camp!
How many people are in each camp?
This number usually varies between 15-30.
How long is my drive time?
Depending on where you are coming from, you can plan on a 5-30 minute drive, if you reside in the Northern Virginia area. Our location changes from time to time in order to maintain the sense of adventure and variety which is crucial in combating boredom and plateaus…You'll love it, trust us!
Remember, at 6:00 in the morning the traffic is very light - your drive time is greatly reduced!
What do I need to bring?
An exercise mat, water bottle, small hand weights (3-8 lbs.), running shoes, 5 lbs ankle weights (2.5 lbs each ankle) and a sense of adventure. These items can be purchased at any local Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart etc. You will be given details prior to the start of camp.
What kind of people go to camp?
They are people just like you. Someone who needs a little push to jump start their fitness and wellness program. Most campers have some history of exercise, but it's not required…remember, ALL FITNESS LEVELS ARE ACCEPTED and ENCOURAGED!
Is there a refund policy?
We can only give you a credit towards another boot camp if you are unable to continue with the one you began because of circumstance beyond your control. This credit is nontransferable. Credit is not given towards private training. There is no cash refund.
What is a typical day like at camp?
That's difficult to say since each day is intentionally different to alleviate boredom. You can expect, yoga/pilates-type mat work, some running (no more than one mile), weight training, obstacle courses, tug-of-war, and jumping rope each week. On special days, we may go hiking and play sports-related games. It's always an adventure, and you'll always have fun! You will be taught a great deal about proper form and "core stability."
How soon will I see results?
Performance improvement can take place in as little as three days. "Visual Improvement" can take from two to four weeks depending on your effort level. It's becoming common to see as much as 3-8 pounds of weight loss after the first week. Remember, everyone is different!
What will I do after camp is over?
You will get re-measured and tested to show your progress and success in the program. Many (up to 80%) of the campers return for subsequent camps (you'll quickly become part of the family).
